Free concerts

- West-Plex Community Church, 550 Highway T in Foristell, will host a free community concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5. The Peacocks, a traditional music group from Illinois that specializes in 17th-19th century Scottish and Irish music, will perform in 18th century costumes. - The Blackwood Brothers Quartet will present a free concert as part of the Southern gospel group's 75th anniversary tour at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at the First Baptist Church at 2230 Lake Saint Louis Blvd. in Lake Saint Louis. A free-will offering will be collected. For more information call 636-561-8476.

Craft fairs

- Child of God Lutheran Church and School, 650 Salt Lick Road in St. Peters, will host its fall craft fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 7.

Church dinners

- The United Methodist Church at Wentzville, 725 Wall St., will host its 23rd annual Turkey and Ham Dinner and Holiday Bazaar from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 7.

The dinner costs $9 for adults and $4 for children ages 6-12. Carry-outs will be available. The event, sponsored by the United Methodist Women, also will include a silent auction for several quilts. For more information call 636-327-6377.

- A sausage and turkey dinner, sponsored by Friends of Secondary Lutheran Education, is scheduled from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Immanuel Lutheran School, 317 W. Pearce Blvd. in Wentzville.

The dinner costs $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-11 and is free to children 5 and younger. Carry-outs and fresh sausage will be available. The event also will include a country store. For more information call 636-327-4416.

Sock hop

Hope Lutheran ELCA will host a Sock Hop to Stop Hunger from 7-11 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Pastor Jack Lawrence Family Life Center, 1975 Old Highway 94 South in St. Charles.

Proceeds will benefit Oasis Food Pantry in St. Charles.

The sock hop will feature a live DJ playing music from the 1950s and '60s, dance contests, costume contests and a 50/50 raffle. Lemonade, iced tea, coffee and snacks will be provided free, as well as a complimentary pair of Sock Hunger bobby socks. Beer, wine and pizza will be available for purchase.

Chapel anniversary

Emmaus Homes will host a celebration Nov. 8 to mark the 100th anniversary of the chapel at its Marthasville campus, 11900 Emmaus Drive off Highway D.

The celebration will begin at 1 p.m. with campus tours, followed by a service in the chapel at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Donald Sabbert, former pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Marthasville and former president of the Emmaus Board of Directors. A reception will follow in the Emmaus fellowship hall. Quilt social

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will host a quilt social at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the school gym at the Church of St. Cletus, 2705 Zumbehl Road in St. Charles.

The event will include handmade quilts, attendance prizes and cash prizes for bingo winners. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. A light lunch and dessert will be available. For more information call 636-946-5226.

Movie showing

Transfiguration Episcopal Church, 1860 Lake Saint Louis Blvd. in Lake Saint Louis, will host a showing of "The Woodsman," a movie about a convicted sex offender struggling to regain his life, at 7 p.m. Nov. 9. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Free popcorn and beverages will be available, and a discussion will take place afterward. Guest speakers will be representatives of SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests). The movie is rated R for sexuality, disturbing behavior and language. For more information call 636-561-8951.

Shiloh luncheon

Shiloh United Methodist Church, 1515 Highway T in Foristell, will hosting its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11. This month's theme will be Thanksgiving. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a dish to share. For more information call 636-673-2144.

Trivia night

Trinity Episcopal Church will host its second annual Trivia Night and Raffle at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at American Legion Post 312, 2500 Raymond Drive in St. Charles. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
