North County Inc., a regional, economic and community development organization, will once again honor North County's newest generation of business, professional and community leaders.

NCI, in partnership with the North County Suburban Journals and News 20, will host "NCI salutes 30 Leaders in their 30s" luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 25 at Norwood Hills Country Club.

Event sponsors are Christian Hospital, Ferguson-Florissant School District, Incarnate Word Academy, SSM DePaul Health Center, US Bank, Commerce Bank, Favazza & Associates LLC, Valley Industries, Bommarito Honda, Nissan & Volkswagen of Hazelwood, St. Louis County and St. Louis County Economic Council.

The 30 Leaders in their 30s are:

CARLA ADDOH

Carla Addoh, 39, is a Director of Special Education for the Central Region of the Special School District of St. Louis County.

Her responsibilities include overseeing compliance and special education services in five partner school districts, supervising, observing and evaluating the performance of the staff, interviewing and making recommendations on employment and implementing district policies and ensuring the staff complies with those policies.

Addoh, who is certified by the ASHA and the Missouri Board of Healing Arts, chaired the Service Delivery Committee in the Ferguson-Florissant Partnership Plan and was involved with the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. She has also taken part in the Principals Fellow Program and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.    She participates as a volunteer in the Autism Walk and developed a program to meet the needs of children with autism through her job responsibilities.

Addoh received the Apple Educators Award.

DAVIN BIRAM

Davin Biram, 32, of Lake St. Louis, is the store manager for the Wal-Mart in Ferguson.

In his position, he manages $50 million in sales and 260 associates.

Biram has participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and is affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network and Beyond Housing.

He has made many volunteer contributions to the Ferguson Police Department, McCluer High School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, Beyond Housing and Better Family Life.

JOHN BOAIN, D.D.S.

Dr. John C. Boain, 30, is a general dentist and owner of Boain Dental Care in Florissant.

He provides children and adult dentistry as well as implants, endodontics, oral surgery, Invisalign and in-office Zoom Whitening.

Boain is involved with the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, the American Association of Implant Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce.

He has contributed many hours of free dentistry to Give Kids A Smile. He has remained active each year with the Florissant Fall Festival and makes contributions to Old Town Florissant.  

Boain purchased Boain Dental Care from his father, Joseph L. Boain, D.D.S., this past January. He and his wife, Jennifer, also a general dentist, practice together.

He was named an Invisalign Premier Provider in 2007.

KEVIN BUCHEK

Kevin E. Buchek, 32, of the Village of Bel-Nor, is the executive vice president and general counsel of the E.M. Harris Construction Company.

His responsibilities include oversight of all construction-related matters including but not limited to client relations, negotiation and drafting of contracts with clients and subcontractors and management of construction personnel.

Buchek is involved with the Mayors of Small Cities, RCGA, MGA, the Missouri bar, the St. Louis Municipal League and the FOCUS St. Louis Leadership Program.

He was recently elected to serve his third term as chairman of trustees of the Village of Bel-Nor. He also has been a board member of the Child Center Marygrove for nine years.

Buchek was awarded the Educational Achievement Award for Jurisprudence.

MOLLY CHAMBERLAIN

Molly Chamberlain, 30, is the Patient Care Supervisor of the Emergency Department at Christian Hospital.

Her responsibilities include assisting in managing the department, providing strong clinical leadership and customer service skills, conducting evaluations, making schedules, keeping track of attendance records, time cards and the interview and hiring process. She also evaluates, provides and oversees patient care.

She is a member of the Heart Watch Team at Christian Hospital, the captain of the Emergency Department's Heart Walk Team, a member of the Employee Engagement Team Christian Emergency Department and was featured in a cable television program, Health Matters, which was broadcasted throughout St. Louis County to promote prompt treatment of heart attack patients.

Chamberlain, who graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2001, helped Christian Hospital achieve door-to-balloon times of less than 90 minutes, 100 percent of the time in the past six months in heart attack patients. This is the time allotted for the entire process starting with the patient's emergency department entry to receiving coronary balloon inflation in the cardiac cath lab to re-establish blood flow. Last year, Christian Hospital reach the No. 1 ranking in St. Louis for having the best survival rate for heart attack patients and No. 2 in Missouri.

JULIE COPP

Julie Copp, 38, is a College Orientation Coordinator, Communications Program Coordinator and faculty in the Department of Communications at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley.

Her job responsibilities include coordinating two programs and teaching full-time. She supervises staff and faculty, designs curriculum, cooperates and works with other campus departments, staffs classes and handles student concerns.

Copp is a member of the National Communication Association, the National Association for Developmental Education, the Global Education Committee, the Faculty Advisory Board, the Academic Foundations Council, the Connect Dream Team and the General Education Committee.

She has been a plenary speaker at the North County Cares VIII and IX Summits. She was also asked to give a motivational speech, "Igniting the Spirit Within" to St. Louis Community College students.

She has been named Who's Who Among American Teachers in 2003-04 and was a graduate teaching assistant award nominee in 2000 at St. Louis University. She was given the International Communication Association Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award and a certificate in University Teaching Skills in 2000. She was also nominated for the Outstanding New Faculty award and was named an Emerging Scholar mentor.

DAVID COX

David Cox, 38, is the Economic Developer for the City of Hazelwood.

Cox's responsibilities include recruitment and retention of business and industry. He handles business attraction, general business assistance, coordination of projects and coordination with other governments and agencies and marketing and promotion of the city. Cox also maintains and provides information about Hazelwood's economy.

He is a member of the Northwest Chamber of Commerce, MO Economic Development Council and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Cox, who has his bachelor's degree in political science and his Masters of Public Administration, has been involved in the redevelopment of the ex-Ford site which is now Aviator Business Park, has helped create the local option loan fund and has aided in bringing Brake Resources, Inc., Fiserv, Matrix Packaging and Cargo Bay to Hazelwood.

In the past, Cox has worked in economic and community development in Sikeston Charleston, East Prairie, Lake Ozark, West Plains, Edmundson and Bonne Terre.

KYNAN CRECELIUS

Kynan S. Crecelius, 33, is the owner and a system integrator at Egias, LLC.

His job responsibilities include providing information technology solutions and support to small businesses in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan areas. He works with Microsoft-based systems in peer-to-peer and server-client networks in design, implementation, procurement and support, web design and hosting and project management. He also works closely with CIO/CTO level services including policy governance and strategic vision.

Crecelius is a city council liaison to the Ferguson Public Library Board.

He is currently serving his second consecutive term on the Ferguson City Council as a Ward 3 Council Member. He's been working with his fellow council members to foster economic development, to enhance efficiency through better leveraging of technology and data, combating housing decline, advance payday lending accountability and to reform and promote fiscal responsibility over tax dollars.

Crecelius has also assisted in the coordination of volunteer efforts for the Katrina Housing Relief project initiated by Faith Beyond Walls in Kinloch in 2005-06.

TERRY CROW

Terry Crow, 37, is a Training Program Coordinator for Valley Industries.

His responsibilities include managing the training program which is primarily funded by the Productive Living Board of St. Louis County, supporting handicapped employees and managing three trainers who provide hands-on support to the Valley staff and employees in learning job skills or supervisor roles. Crow also manages the training component for ISO 9000:2001 certification of Valley Industries, which is a non-profit sheltered workshop that provides meaningful employment for adults with developmental disabilities.

In the past three to five years, Crow has been the chairman of the Missions Committee at the Third Baptist Church, chairman of the Education Committee at Delmar Baptist Church and secretary of the Church Committee's Council at Delmar Baptist Church. He's been a kindergarten and first-grade assistant team leader for an inner-city tutoring program and taught Christian education classes to youth in St. Louis County for three years. He also volunteers and co-leads Christian education courses for children ages 5-10 and in the past two years has assisted in an annual community recycling event.

Crow has also worked with St. Louis A.R.C,  Bellefontaine Rehabilitation Center and Cardinal Ritter Senior Services.

LESLEY ENGLISH-ABRAM

Lesley English-Abram, 39, is the manager of the Employment & Training Center at the St. Louis Community College Division of Workforce and Community Development.

She manages and oversees all of St. Louis Community Colleges Workforce Investment Act contracts, programs and services for both of its St. Louis County and St. Louis City contracts. She also supervises a staff of more than 75 employees at nine career center locations.

English-Abram is a member of the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals and is certified by the Missouri Association of Workforce Development. She also volunteers at the Florissant Area Athletic Association, keeping score at her daughters' softball games.

In 2006, English-Abram provided leadership in the coordination of the St. Louis Community Colleges Employment & Training Center's efforts to assist Target in staffing its new store in Jennings. English-Abram and ETC assisted North County residents and residents in surrounding areas in finding employment. While expecting 500 applicants, they were surprised to see more than 2,000 attend the application fair, which helped fill the available positions at the new Target store and other locations in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.

ANITRA GALMORE

Anitra Galmore, 37, of St. Charles is the clinical director of Women's Services at SSM DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton.

Galmore administers, directs and coordinates activities of Labor & Delivery, Post Partum/GYN surgical unit, Perinatal Testing Center and the Level II Nursery. She sets direction for departments including marketing activities, physician recruitment, employee and patient satisfaction and unit growth opportunities. She develops a comprehensive approach to employee partnership in the areas of communication, interpersonal, coaching, team process and support. Her unit prides themselves on patient safety and satisfaction initiatives.

She is a member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics & Neonatal Nurses, the National Certification Corporation, and Second Missionary Baptist Church. Galmore is certified in electronic fetal monitoring and high risk obstetric nursing and is a certified master trainer in TEAM STEPPS, a patient safety program, as well as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider. She has volunteered at numerous community health clinics at schools, churches and shelters around the county.

Galmore obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing from St. Louis Community College and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at Webster University. She plans to pursue a MBA in the future.

DENISE GRIFFIN

Denise Griffin, 39, is the City Clerk and Finance Officer for the City of Northwoods.

She is responsible for the management of the city budget and finances. She is also the administrative assistant to the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen. Griffin is part of the mayor's executive management team and oversees the administration of a $2 million budget for the city.

Griffin is the president of the Northwoods Garden Club, secretary of the 3rd Ward Roxie Street Block Unit and a member of the Parks and Recreation committee. She volunteers and works with the Redbird Rookies League sponsored by the St. Louis Cardinals CARE Organization.

She became a Certified Municipal Clerk in March of 2006 and eventually a Missouri Registered City Clerk through the Missouri Local Government Program. She entered the Master Academy and is actively seeking Master Municipal Clerk status with the Missouri Clerks and Finance Officers Association, which she has been a member of since 1999. She has also been a member of the General Finance Officers Association since 2001.

MOLLY GRUMICH

Molly Grumich, 35, is an assistant principal of academics for Incarnate Word Academy.

Her responsibilities include overseeing all curricular aspects of the school, supervising the teachers, working closely with the counseling department and learning consultant to aid students struggling academically. Grumich is new to this role at IWA. For the last seven years, she served as the speech and drama teacher, student council moderator and performing arts department chairperson.

In her previous role, Grumich enjoyed taking part in planning events that IWA hosts each year. She planned the annual Special Olympic district soccer tournament that welcomed athletes and their families from all over the state and she organized the Senior Citizen Prom which invited senior citizens from North County to IWA.

Grumich takes part in the annual fall festival committee and serves as vice president on the executive board of the Student, Family Organization which supports her children's school. She is heavily involved in her parish, the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

Grumich was recognized as the IWA Alumnae of the Year in 2009.

STEPHANIE HARTING ROCKETTE

Steffanie Harting Rockette, 38, is the Director of the Des Lee Collaborative Vision at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Harting Rockette oversees, manages and coordinates community and higher education endeavors involving the efforts of 37 endowed professors at four institutions, area cultural organizations, local schools and governmental agencies in collected efforts to expand educational opportunities for underserved populations.

Coordination of teacher development workshops, exposing students to new and exciting events, enhancing school achievement, health awareness and the pursuit and ultimate success of quality education is at the core of Harting Rockette's efforts.

As past president of the Staff Association at UMSL she ensured all 1200-plus staff employees were well represented during difficult budget scenarios. She also administered scholarship opportunities to staff dependents at UMSL.

Harting Rockette is chair of the University Child Development Center Advistory Committee, a member of the UMSL Respect Committee, a member of the Civic Engagement Committee and a member of the Inter-Campus Staff Advisory Committee at the University of Missouri System. She is also an active UMSL gerontology alum.

FELICIA HARVEY M.D.

Dr. Felicia Harvey is a board-certified pediatrician at Betty Jean Kerr People's Health Center. She provides comprehensive medical care for children from birth to 18 years old in North County.   Harvey is a member of the Mound City Medical Forum, the National Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri at Columbia and obtained a M.D. From Howard University College of Medicine in Washington D.C. She completed a pediatric residency at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

Since medical school, Harvey has tried to be visible in the community. Her interests have included firearm injury prevention and providing health screenings for preschool and school-age children. She recently volunteered for the Sickle Cell Disease Community Advocates at Camp Crescent.

CHRIS KILBRIDE

Chris Kilbride, 33, is the Principal of Buder Elementary School in the Ritenour School District.

He facilitates the continuous growth and development of all students and staff at Buder Elementary School. As a building leader, he has the task of maintaining a climate conducive to improved performance and accountability for learning.

Kilbride is a member of the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals, the St. Louis Suburban Principals Association, the National Staff Development Council and the American Society for Quality.

Before becoming the principal at Buder Elementary School, Kilbride served as a science teacher at Hoech Middle School for three years. He was also the assistant principal and interim principal of Kratz Elementary School for three years. He also served as the Ritenour School District Staff Development Coordinator for two years.

Kilbride, who just began his third year as principal, was selected to attend the St. Louis Metropolitan Principal's Cohort Program at St. Louis University and was nominated for the Outstanding Young Alumni program at Eureka College in Eureka, Ill.

JAMES KNOWLES III

James Knowles III, 30, is responsible for government affairs and public relations for the Independent Electrical Contractors Association of St. Louis.

He tracks legislation pertinent to association members, researches public policy issues and formulates association legislative policy.

Knowles is a city councilman for the City of Ferguson. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the North Central Fire Alarm & Dispatch, the Board of Deacons for First Presbyterian Church of Ferguson, the University of Missouri-St. Louis Alumni Association, the Truman State University Alumni Association and the Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni Association- Phi Psi Zeta Chapter. He is a registered fee agent for the Ferguson Lion's Club License Office, a member of the Bridgeton Masonic Lodge No. 80-AF & AM, a member of the St. Louis Valley Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. He was also an assistant wrestling coach at McCluer High School from 2002-04.

He was the North County Field Director for the McNary for County Executive Campaign in 2004 and was a site coordinator for the McCain-Palin Campaign Event Advance Team. He is a member of the St. Louis Republican Central Committee, the St. Louis Young Republicans, the Missouri Federation of Young Republicans and the National Federation of Young Republicans.

DETECTIVE SGT, BRIAN LAW

Detective Sgt. Brian Law, 36, is a police officer with the Dellwood Police Department.

He started his career more than 13 years ago in Dellwood.

He investigates crimes, interviews suspects and processes crime scenes. He also is the director of the Neighborhood Watch Program for the City of Dellwood.

Law received an associate degree in criminal justice from St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley.

He has received numerous commendations for his work as a Dellwood police officer and letters of appreciation from residents and business owners in Dellwood for "a job well done." In his spare time, Law coaches Little League baseball in Chesterfield. He also helps his wife, Jennifer, at Chance's Pride Youth Gymnastics in O'Fallon, Mo,, where she is a co-owner.

JASON MCCONACHIE

Jason McConachie, 37, is the City Administrator for the City of Overland.

He serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the city. This includes dealing with financial, legislative, legal or personnel matters as they arise. He works closely with the mayor and the city council.

McConachie is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the Missouri Management Association and the St. Louis Area City Management Association.

He is the City of Overland's first city administrator and was selected by the mayor and city council.

McConachie is a 2008 graduate of the Missouri Leadership Program through the University of Missouri-Columbia, Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs.

BARRY NELSON

Barry Nelson, 36, is Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources of the Pattonville School District.

Nelson's responsibilities include recruitment and selection of school personnel, certification, transportation, professional studies, as well as various district committee assignments. He is an administrative advocate for two Pattonville elementary schools and is the coordinator for the district calendar. He works closely with salary advancement, tuition reimbursement and core data.

He is involved with Phi Delta Kappa, the American Association of School Personnel Administrators, the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Nelson recently made the transition from elementary school principal to assistant superintendent. As an elementary school principal, he worked with the school community on various community service efforts such as Pasta for Pennies, food drives, disability awareness, career fairs, school improvement, PTA, parent education workshops, community education nights, etc.

Under  Nelson's leadership, Rose Acres Elementary School achieved Top Ten elementary school recognition on the Missouri Assessment Program on two occasions. The school also was recognized as a National PTA Parent Involvement School of Excellence.

Prior to becoming principal, Nelson served as a physical education teacher at Carrolton Oaks Elementary where the physical education program was recognized as an exemplary program by the Missouri Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance.

Nelson was given the Francis & Elizabeth Huss Graduate Award in Education Administration at Lindenwood University for the 2000-2001 school year. He also was a Pride of Pattonville Award Winner in 2006.

AARON POHLMANN

Aaron Pohlmann, 35, is an Assistant Vice President and Business Banking Officer at U.S. Bank in Bridgeton.

Pohlmann assists North County small business owners with the financing and cash management tools they need to increase cash flow and grow their businesses.

He is a member of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Chamber of Commerce.

Pohlmann has nine years of executive level sales experience and has been happy to give back to North County, where he grew up, by helping local business owners and churches get the financing needed to grow and expand their businesses and organizations. He has also helped local real estate investors get financing to purchase and renovate rental properties in North County.

Pohlmann received his bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University and his MBA from St. Louis University.

CHRISTINE PRUITT

Christine Pruitt, 39, is the Senior Catering Sales Executive at the St. Louis Airport Marriott.

Her responsibilities include booking complex social and local catering events for the 150-plus attendees for weddings, educational seminars and family reunions; meeting and exceeding revenue goals; driving customer loyalty by delivering quality products and services and developing specialized menu options to fit within the customers' budget.

Pruitt is an active member of the Northwest Chamber of Commerce. She attends regular membership meetings and serves on the special events fundraising committee. She recently helped coordinate and execute the annual Chamber Golf Tournament. She now serves on the committee that raises funds for the "Mingle at the Mills" event in September.

Pruitt has been involved with the annual North County Inc. Breakfast for the past five years. She also is involved with the International Special Events Society.

Pruitt is a multiple-year recipient of Marriott's Golden Circle Award, was awarded the Chairman's Circle Achiever award for Marriott in 2005 and was the Marriott Regional Sales Office Sales Champion for the Central Region in 2007.

CHAKETA RIDDLE

Chaketa Riddle, 32, is the Riverview Gardens Central Middle School Principal in the Riverview Gardens School District.

She is responsible for establishing a positive learning environment, ensuring effective instructional program and holding educators accountable for their performance in the classroom. She is involved in curriculum planning, professional development and the implementation of educational programs that apply to the students' needs. She also is responsible for establishing and maintaining a good student, teacher, parents and community relationship.

Riddle is involved with the University of Virginia Partnership for Leaders in Education's School Turnaround Specialist Program, the National Middle School Association, the National Association for Secondary School Principals, the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals and the St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

Riddle stresses the importance of being visible in the community and has her staff participate in community activities, including the Moline Acres Annual Parade.

She has received the Achieiva Tutoring Positive Support Award for dedication to student achievement, the Riverview Excellence for commitment shown to the Great Expectations Secondary Education Committee, the Administrative Mentoring Program Certificate of Completion Award for participating in the two-year statewide mentoring program for new school leaders and the Riverview Gardens School District Perfect Attendance Award.

MARQUINEZ SAVALA

Marquinez A. "Nez" Savala, 38, is a communication specialist for the Hazelwood School District.

Her responsibilities include being the liaison for the district schools, community organizations and parents and residents; writing news releases and advisories for print, broadcast and online media and writing stories and providing content for the district newsletter, brochures and Web site.

Savala is a member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, the marketing committee of North County Incorporated, the education committee of the Greater Northwest Chamber of Commerce and the Missouri School Public Relations Association. She is also a volunteer with GenNext at the United Way of Greater St. Louis.

As a representative of the Hazelwood School District on the education committee of the Greater Northwest Chamber of Commerce, Savala helps select students to receive college scholarships.

Savala earned Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit for writing through the MOSPRA Communications Contest in 2008 and 2009.

JOHN SCHNEIDER

John Schneider, 34, is a general firefighter and emergency medical technician for the Metro North Fire Protection District.

His duties include responding to alarms, rescues, fire prevention, community relations and station and vehicle maintenance.

Schneider is currently the secretary/treasurer of the Professional Firefighters of Eastern MO IAFF Local 2655 and has been a member of the Local for 13 years. He is also an active member of the North County Citizens Group and participates in various neighborhood associations within the Metro North Fire Protection District. Schneider has also served on the City of Moline Acres City Picnic Committee.

He is involved in a community outreach program through work, installing hundreds of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors free of charge for district residents.

Schneider also has led two major campaign initiatives. In 2004, he helped increased the minimum number of firefighters on the pumper to meet national standards. The second was a bond issue in 2006 to build a new engine house with better equipment and safer conditions for firefighters to enter and exit the building.

SCOTT SMITH

Scott Smith, 38, is the City Engineer for the City of Florissant.

His responsibilities include developing the engineering division's annual budget, assuring the quality of bridges, storm and sanitary sewer relief projects, along with state and county highway projects through design and construction.

Smith, a registered professional engineer, serves on the Board of Directors for the Engineers' Club of St. Louis and is also an active member of American Public Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Military Engineers and the Army Engineers Association.

He works closely with civic organizations such as the Florissant Parks Foundation by assisting them with projects such as the Sunset Park Nature Lodge. Currently, he is working with Dr. Gary Higgs, director of the GIS Laboratory at St. Louis University to evolve Florissant's Geographic Information System to the most informative in the region.

Smith received the Department of the Army Outstanding Performance Award in 1995, Department of the Army Commander's Award for Civilian Service in 1998, Department of the Army Recognition Award in 1999, St. Louis Young Engineer of the Year Award in 2003 and a proclamation from Mayor Robert G. Lowery Sr. in 2002.

Smith attributes his success to his parents Jeffrey and Carol Smith.

GARY SPILLER II

Gary L. Spiller II, 31, is an assistant principal at McCluer North High School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District.

Spiller, who is also the Senior Class Principal for the class of 2010, works closely with students on a daily basis. He promotes and educates students in leadership, character, achievement and school and community ownership.

He is a member of the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

At McCluer North, Spiller has implemented a Star Pride Character Initiative and developed a school-wide program for parental involvement. Through both of the programs, Spiller has helped to raise levels of involvement for students and parents. Also, he's been able to help raise funds to provide scholarships and host school events focused on improving the school.

He is furthering his education by currently working on his Education Specialist Certification at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

Spiller also volunteers at LifePoint Church.

JODY TAYLOR

Jody Taylor, 30, of Hazelwood is the executive director for Neighbors Assisting Neighbors and a pediatric medical social worker at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

In her role at Neighbors Assisting Neighbors, Taylor provides leadership and support to the program by fulfilling its mission of creating clean and safe neighborhoods in the St. Louis County area. At Children's Hospital, she provides clinical Social Work services to increase the patient and family's capacity to deal with the medical, emotional, psychological and social aspects of illness and traumatic situations and works with the Child Protection Team in helping keep children safe from child abuse and neglect.

Taylor is affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers, the Juvenile Justice Association of St. Louis County, the Council on Child Abuse & Neglect, the Community Response Team for St. Louis County, and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.

Since her involvement with Neighbors Assisting Neighbors, first as a volunteer and now as the executive director, Taylor has had an ongoing commitment to North County through neighborhood ongoing clean-ups. She is proud of the relationship she has built with Believers Temple Church which has resulted in two neighborhood clean-ups a year in Castlepoint, with the help of 50 volunteers.

Taylor graduated in 2004 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Bachelor in Social Work and in 2007 she earned her Masters in Social Work from Saint Louis University.

KYRA WATSON

Kyra Watson, 39, is the Mayor of Berkeley.

Watson chairs meetings and builds relationships with residents, employees, legislators and business leaders in the community. She also develops and supports intergovernmental and public and private partnerships, develops legislation and creates goals for the city while working to ensure they are met.

She is involved with the National League of Cities, the Missouri Municipal League, the St. Louis Municipal League, the Metro Mayors Association, the National Conference ofr Black Mayors, Inc. and the Missouri Chapter of the National Conference of Black Mayors, Inc.

As mayor, Watson has worked to receive substantial improvements to an area park through a public/private partnership and began efforts to reestablish relationships with the business, education and religious communities of Berkeley.

Watson has received the Platinum Level Leadership Certificate from the National League of Cities and the African-American Legend from the St. Louis Argus in 2007. She was named an Advocate for Children by the Annie Malone Children's Home in 2008 and was named to the Cambridge Who's Who for 2009-10.

PAMELA WEAKLEY-LEE

Pamela J. Weakley-Lee, 39, is a tax accountant for UniFirst First Aid Corporation and Green Guard First Aid & Safety.

Weakley-Lee handles business taxes, including sales tax returns, annual reports, property tax returns and business licenses.

She has been a member of the Florissant's Citizen's Participation Committee since 2006, was appointed by Mayor Robert G. Lowery to the Environmental Quality Commission in 2007 and is a founding member of Accessible Play, Inc., a local non-profit corporation that is raising funds to build an all-inclusive accessible playground in the City of Florissant.

As the EQC Vice-Chairperson, Weakley-Lee has aided in projects aimed at educating citizens on the importance of recycling and environmental protection. She also provides web design and content development and maintenance for Accessible Play, Inc. Weakley-Lee volunteered to be the committee chair for the first fundraiser which netted $11,000 this past April.

Weakley-Lee has volunteered on several special projects with the Florissant City Council. She has assisted by writing newsletters, facilitating a baseball game outing and a plant sale and helping with registration at the Valley of the Flowers Car Show.
